volunteer
Volunteering at AIDS Partnership Michigan is not only rewarding, it can
help you develop important skills and lead to friendships that last a
lifetime. Our volunteers are of all ages, ethnicities, backgrounds and
sexual orientations. And despite the serious business of fighting HIV
that unites us, we do manage to have lots of fun. We’re like family. We
laugh together. We celebrate together. And sometimes we cry together.
We’d love it if you joined us. Here are some ways you can help.
prevention volunteers
After being trained, of course, these volunteers
answer the hotline and counsel people who come
in for testing. They also work in the community
as speakers and ambassadors, helping us to
spread the word and save lives. Many start out a
little shy and wind up becoming poised, confident
and good listeners.
development volunteers
These volunteers work in the office with the
fundraising staff. They help with planning
and marketing our events, greeting visitors,
answering the phone and doing general office
work that is so crucial to a nonprofit organization.
