DIRTY BLONDE, Retirement Reception for Barbara Murray
A bawdy, funny drama, DIRTY BLONDE was no evening of mere impersonation. With Vaudeville and her rise to Hollywood stardom as a backdrop, Mae West becomes a symbol for two adoring fans to discover their nature, their identities, and ultimately themselves.
In conjunction with the retirement reception for Barbara Murray from AIDS Partnership Michigan, this evening’s entertainment served as reminder to celebrate ourselves and the impact we have on those around us. DIRTY BLONDE featured from Disney’s THE LION KING, Mark David Kaplan (Zazu) as Frank Wallace, Joe Frisco and others; and Ben Lipitz (Pumbaa) as Charlie. From Jackson, Michigan PRISON CITY PLAYERS, Colleen Flynn starred as Jo and Mae West. All proceeds benefited AIDS Partnership Michigan and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).
